Fatty Acid Oxidation Defect in Nutshell

Our two youngest children were born with a rare error of metabolism called Fatty acid Oxidation Disorder. The advent of a chronic condition in our family has required that we learn to be both flexible and consistent with our home schooling. Not an easy combo for this fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants type mom.

A special diet and a few medications enable both boys to do, learn, and play almost as if the disorder did not exist. For more info. on genetic errors of metabolism go to Fod Family Support.
